Prayer Letter July 2024

Dear Prayer Partners:

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him so that you may over­flow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit

Romans 15:13–16

Recently Carmel Hurdle and Kim Ostern led a group of people to visit, and to show support to, Ohfi projects in Rwanda, Uganda and Zambia.

Carmel wrote about their journey as follows——

A group of ten ohfi sup­port­ers recently returned from a trip to Rwanda. They visited a number of projects estab­lished with our PHARP part­ners. They also attended four sewing course grad­u­a­tions and spent time at the “Bright Angels” and “Pilgrim” schools that ohfi supports.

During the visit the group heard tes­ti­monies of how grad­u­a­tion sewing machines had sig­nif­i­cantly changed women’s lives, in that it enabled the women to earn enough money to send their chil­dren to school and meet health and nutri­tional needs.

A group of young mothers, par­ent­ing on their own, tes­ti­fied as to how receiv­ing a farm animal each had improved their lives and helped them to be more readily accepted by their community.

The main message the sup­port­ers heard was one of hope for the women and the futures of their children.

Lord we thank you for the gift of hope the women in impov­er­ished com­mu­ni­ties have received.

We pray: That as your work con­tin­ues in Rwanda, your gift of hope is spread to more people.

That ohfi will con­tinue to be blessed with dona­tions to enable more women to receive sewing machines and farm animals to improve their lives and the lives of their chil­dren. Amen.
